Air Fryer Roast Pork – succulent pork loin roasted to perfection in your Air Fryer. With a crisp skin and tender meat, this may be the best and easiest pork recipe EVER!
Serve with my Air Fryer Yorkshire Puddings!

Air Fryer Roast Pork is a total game changer! Perfect crispy skin and juicy tender meat cooked in under an hour. I have to admit that I don’t often make roast pork, mostly because the meat tends to be a little tough and lacking in flavor.
Once I cooked a pork loin in my air fryer I saw how just how tasty this relatively inexpensive cut can be. The air fryer keeps the meat juicy and tender while crisping up the skin to perfection – I will NEVER go back to oven-roasted!
And the best part? It is such an easy recipe, using only a handful of ingredients. Here’s how to make air fryer roast pork that will be sure to impress your friends and family.
Here’s What You’ll Need
- Boneless pork loin. This is a lean cut of pork usually sold rolled and tied with a layer of fat on top that bastes the meat as it cooks, keeping it moist and tender and juicy.
- Not to be mistaken for pork tenderloin – take a look at this article for a more detailed look at cuts of pork.
- Salt and pepper – you CAN make this recipe using just salt and pepper.
- Crushed fennel seeds, paprika and olive oil.
How Long Should I Cook Pork In The Air Fryer?
Air fryer times are based on cooking at 400°F (200°C) for the first 20 minutes to crisp the skin, then lowering the temperature 350°F (180°C). Always check with a meat thermometer rather than relying only on time, especially since air fryer models vary greatly. The safe minimum temperature for roast pork is 145°F (63°C), followed by a 10-15 minute rest. If you prefer well done, cook to 160°F (71°C).
| Weight | Air Fryer Time | Oven Time (350°F / 180°C) | Internal Temp |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 lb (900g) | 55–65 minutes | 55–65 minutes | 145°F (63°C) |
| 3 lb (1.3kg) | 55–65 minutes | 75–85 minutes | 145°F (63°C) |
| 4 lb (1.8kg) | 65–75 minutes | 95–105 minutes | 145°F (63°C) |
| 5 lb (2.2kg) | 75–90 minutes | 115–125 minutes | 145°F (63°C) |

How to Make Air Fryer Pork Roast
- Pat the pork loin dry using paper towels. Score the fat layer (rind) in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife, taking care not to cut too deeply.

- Crush the fennel seeds and salt flakes in a pestle and mortar. Combine with the sweet paprika and pepper and rub into the the layer of fat and all over the joint. Set aside for 10 minutes or refrigerate overnight on a wire rack, uncovered, for best crispy crackling.

- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes then reduce the temperature to 360°F (180°C). Rub the pork with the olive oil and place in the air fryer basket or on a wire rack set over a dripping tray if you have a front loading air fryer (see recipe tips).

- Cook for approximately 25 minutes per pound (450g) or until the internal temperature registers 145°F / 63°C on an instant read thermometer. My pork roast was ready in about 50 minutes.
- Remove the pork from the air fryer and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

What to Do with Leftover Roast Pork
Don’t let a single slice go to waste — roast pork leftovers are the gift that keeps on giving. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days, or slice and freeze for up to 2 months. Here are some delicious ways to use them up:
- Pork sandwiches – Layer slices on crusty bread with mustard or apple butter and a little cheese, then press into a panini.
- Stir-fries – Add thin strips to a quick veggie stir-fry for protein in minutes.
- Breakfast hash – Fry with diced potatoes, onions, and peppers, then top with a fried egg, corned beef hash style.
- Pork fried rice – Dice into small cubes and stir into leftover rice with soy sauce, veggies, and a fried egg.

Recipe Notes and Tips
- Please note: The size of your air fryer will determine the size of your pork roast. You can always cut a larger pork loin in two pieces if needed.
- A front loading air fryer (I used the Tower XPress Pro which has an 11L capacity) can also cook a side serving of vegetables under your pork roast. I added seasoned potato wedges on the drip tray and they were crispy yet soft when the roast was ready – delicious!
- Rubbing salt on the pork rind helps create a crispy crackling and adds flavor. If the crackling is not crispy enough you can always remove it from the joint and blast it in the air fryer to crisp it up.
- Leftover pork roast is delicious in sandwiches but it can also be heated up and served with vegetables.

I’m loving your website!
I have a large Fisher & Paykel wall oven with an air fryer function.
I haven’t been brave enough to use this function yet, but after staying with my brother and sister-in-law last week and seeing them use their air fryer, and now finding your website, I can’t wait to start!!
I’ll start with one of your easier recipes.
I hope the air fryer function turns my food out as good as yours looks!!
Oooh that sounds amazing! I am not sure it will work in same way as an air fryer but let me know how it turns out!
This is a perfect recipe and great way to cook a small roast. Moist and flavourful! Family loved it. I’m like you, don’t think I’ll go back to cooking in the oven – air fryer rocks for this! Thank you.
Amazing recipe! I went a slightly different route with mine and covered it in smoky BBQ flavouring. Turned out SO delicious, definitely worth the wait! I hope you don’t mind me saving this but I really want to try it exactly how it was done in this recipe in the future.
How is roast pork American?
No wonder everything is so confused.
Roast pork is embraced by many cultures… I don’t think the recipe is confusing!
