Air Fryer Roast Pork is a total game changer! Perfect crispy skin and juicy tender meat cooked in under an hour.
I have to admit that I don’t often make roast pork, mostly because the meat tends to be a little tough and lacking in flavor.
Once I cooked a pork loin in my air fryer I saw how just how tasty this relatively inexpensive cut can be. The air fryer keeps the meat juicy and tender while crisping up the skin to perfection – I will NEVER go back to oven-roasted!
And the best part? It is such an easy recipe, using only a handful of ingredients. Here’s how to make air fryer roast pork that will be sure to impress your friends and family.
PORK ROAST INGREDIENTS
- Boneless pork loin. This is a lean cut of pork usually sold rolled and tied with a layer of fat on top that bastes the meat as it cooks keeping it moist and juicy.
- Not to be mistaken for pork tenderloin – take a look at this article for a more detailed look at cuts of pork.
- Salt and pepper – you CAN make this recipe using just salt and pepper.
- Crushed fennel seeds, paprika and olive oil.

Pat the pork loin dry using paper towels. Score the fat layer (rind) in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife, taking care not to cut too deeply.
Crush the fennel seeds and salt flakes in a pestle and mortar. Combine with the sweet paprika and pepper and rub into the the layer of fat and all over the joint. Set aside for 10 minutes (or longer, in the fridge, uncovered).
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes then reduce the temperature to 360°F (180°C). Rub the pork with the olive oil and place in the air fryer basket or on a wire rack set over a dripping tray if you have a front loading air fryer (see recipe tips).
Cook for approximately 25 minutes per pound (450g) or until the internal temperature registers 145°F / 63°C on an instant read thermometer. My pork roast was ready in about 50 minutes.
Remove the pork from the air fryer and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving with roast vegetables, potatoes or mash.
RECIPE TIPS
Please note: The size of your air fryer will determine the size of your pork roast. You can always cut a larger pork loin in two pieces if needed.
A front loading air fryer (I used the Tower XPress Pro which has an 11L capacity) can also cook a side serving of vegetables under your pork roast. I added seasoned potato wedges on the drip tray and they were crispy yet soft when the roast was ready – delicious!
Rubbing salt on the pork rind helps create a crispy crackling and adds flavor. If the crackling is not crispy enough you can always remove it from the joint and use the air fryer to crisp it up.
Leftover pork roast is delicious in sandwiches but it can also be heated up and served with vegetables.
