This recipe for Air Fryer Greek Chicken is probably the most cooked dish this summer, in our household anyway. It is super quick and easy but yields amazing results!
Serve these juicy, golden chicken thighs with a traditional Greek salad, on a loaded gyros platter, wrapped in Greek pita bread, with smashed potatoes or however you like. It is freaking delicious, not to mention healthy.
Grocery List
Mix up a quick marinade, add your chicken thighs and air fry… this recipe could not be simpler! Apart from the air fryer, you will need:
- Chicken thighs: boneless and skinless chicken thighs are not only cheaper than chicken breasts, they are also much more juicily tender and delicious.
- The marinade is comprised simply of olive oil, red wine vinegar, lemon zest, dried Greek oregano, garlic seasoning, paprika, salt and pepper.
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER GREEK CHICKEN
Full measurements and instructions can be found on the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page. Please take a look at the steps and video before attempting this recipe!
MARINATE THE CHICKEN
Combine all the ingredients for the marinade in a bowl. Add the chichen thighs and turn them over a few times using tongs so that they are coated in the marinade. Leave for a minimum of 30 minutes or up to overnight in the fridge.
AIR FRY THE CHICKEN
Preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes at 400°F / 200°C. Add the chicken thighs on a rack or directly in the air fryer in a single layer. You will need to cook in batches (or see recipe notes).
Air fry for 7 minutes then flip them over and continue cooking for a further 6-7 minutes or until the chicken registers an internal temperature of about 170°F / 75°C on a meat thermometer.
The chicken should be golden with slightly charred crispy edges but incredibly tender and juicy within. Rest the chicken for a couple of minutes before serving.
HOW TO SERVE GREEK CHICKEN
My favourite way to serve this chicken is as a sort of gyros platter – sliced and served with Greek salad, pita bread and plenty of tzatziki sauce.
You can also serve it as gyros wraps using pita bread or tortilla wraps, with my Greek Orzo Salad, grilled corn and avocado salad or potato salad.

Notes
- Can I use chicken breasts? Chicken breasts can definitely benefit from the wonderful Greek marinade, but they can dry out in the air fryer. Keep an eye on them while cooking to make sure they are not overcooked.
- Reheating Greek Chicken Leftovers can be kept for a couple of days in the fridge (not that we have EVER had leftovers) and warmed in the air fryer for a couple of minutes at 350F / 180°C or until heated through before serving.
