Am typing this post on my laptop on the Gatwick Express en route to the airport while listening to Food Blogger Pro podcast… it doesn’t get much more ‘professional food blogger’ than that, right?
I am feeling super efficient but don’t let that fool you… in reality I am battling with a pretty crippling fear of flying and this is my distraction technique.
All this rambling is merely a preamble to this gorgeous blueberry and basil Moscow mule cocktail… because, trust me, I really desperately use one of these right now, so hopped up on adrenaline and stress am I.
What is a Moscow Mule?
A Moscow Mule is a very simple long cocktail, containing simply vodka, ginger beer and lime juice.
It was promoted very successfully back in the day by getting the bartenders to pose with their drinks (served in a copper mug) and a bottle of Smirnoff vodka.
The pose was immortalised by snapping Polaroids which were then displayed to show the drink’s popularity – a social media campaign before social media even existed! Don Draper would be proud.

Haha well done Lucy for bashing this one out while on the move! I often tell myself I’m going to write posts on the commute to and from work but also just fall into a black hole of podcasts and don’t get round to it. You are clearly a pro! This recipe sounds fab. I love Moscow mules and haven’t ever really strayed fro the class recipe. Must give this a try!

Well I did have a 30 minute uninterrupted train journey on the Gatwick Express. It’s not easy if the commute is hellish!

I have never had a Moscow Mule! I am more of a wine girl, but seeing this beauty has me thinking twice about trying something other than wine. I hope your visit to Greece is a good one.

A Moscow Mule is a starter cocktail – it needs only vodka so very easy to make without having to buy lots of pricey spirits. Highly recommended!
