Apologies (again) that #CookBlogShare round up is a little late. I had the pleasure of attending the Unilever Kitchen event yesterday and by the time I got home I was too tired to write it up. I was literally falling asleep on my keyboard despite (or maybe because) eating one too many cupcakes.
The event was loooong and had a big star guest: Marco Pierre White. But it wasn’t MPW and his tips I had enjoyed the most – although he was pretty damned impressive in an intimidating sort of way. What I enjoyed the most was hanging out with other food bloggers, sharing war stories and having a real laugh. A big shout out to Amy from She Cooks She Eats (sorry about my inability to measure rice properly!), Dom of Belleau Kitchen, Leyla of Motherhood Diaries, our very own #CookBlogShare linker Kirsty of Hijacked by Twins, Rosie of FreyCob, Agata of BarkTime, Manjiri of Slice of Me…
And I think #CookBlogShare allows us to virtually hang out with other bloggers, right? I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. This week we have a beautiful one pot dish from Lydia: Pork shoulder steaks with sweet paprika, roast potatoes, onions, garlic & rosemary. I am all about one pot cooking right now and this is on my to cook list.
Choclette has made some Chocolate Jam Doughnut Muffins filled with chocolate raspberry jam that look like exactly what I would like for breakfast every day with a large cup of coffee – Duffins are incredibly addictive.
Speaking of jam, Ness of JibberJabberUk has a recipe for Quince Jelly with the most amazing colour. Takes me back to Greece and the Quince tree we had in the backyard in Skiathos. The taste is quite unlike any other fruit – would love to have some of that jelly in my pantry.
Our last entry is a Bierkuchen – a German beer cake – from Keep Calm and Fanny On. This unusual cake is packed with wonderful spices, fruit, treacle and German Ale – I must say I am intrigued!
